Alliance for New Beginnings
(AFNB) Organization
Alliance for New Beginnings (AFNB) is a nonprofit organization founded to provide hope, structure, and opportunity for individuals transitioning from incarceration, rehabilitation, or other institutional settings back into community life.
We believe in second chances. AFNB breaks incarceration cycles by providing housing, advocacy, education, job training, and case management. We partner with residents to rebuild trust, restore families, and achieve independence.
Our Mission
Alliance for New Beginnings exists to provide a structured, dignified, and supportive environment for individuals transitioning back into the community. We deliver high-quality housing, wrap-around case management, addiction recovery support, workforce re-entry training, and life-skills development to ensure every resident is equipped for long-term stability.
Our mission is to remove barriers, restore confidence, and empower each person to rebuild their life with purpose. We stand committed to safety, accountability, compassion, and evidence-based practices—meeting people where they are, while pushing them toward where they can be. Through strategic partnerships, community advocacy, and consistent operational excellence, we create a pathway that transforms setbacks into sustainable new beginnings.
Our Vision
Our vision is to become one of New York’s leading transitional housing programs—recognized for elevating the standard of care, strengthening families, and reducing recidivism across our communities.
We aim to grow Alliance for New Beginnings into a multi-site model that offers 30–50 beds, a full workforce development hub, on-site counseling, vocational certifications, and a strong alumni network that gives back to the next generation.
Over the next decade, we plan to expand our footprint, deepen our partnerships, and advocate for a more equitable re-entry system across New York State. Our north star is simple: build a pipeline of stability, opportunity, and hope so every resident can step forward with confidence and reclaim their future.
